All About Represent
Represent, founded in 2011, is a British luxury fashion label that focuses on relentless effort, refinement, and constant progression. The brand began as a college project by brothers George and Mike Heaton, who realized they could sell their art in the form of graphics on clothing. The first product was released in 2012, 20 box logo T-shirts from Merch Asylum print house. In summer, George set up a small booth at Abersoch’s Glass Butter Beach festival, where Rizzle Kicks were seen fully draped in Represent clothing. This boost in brand visibility helped build capital and experiment with more designs and production processes.
In FW13, the brand introduced the Ghost campaign, which marked the end of screen printed, externally sourced clothing and the beginning of garments wholly created internally. The collection gained press from Hypebeast and Highsnobiety, and the brand burst onto the streetwear market.
In 2022, Represent experienced accelerated growth, increasing its presence in physical spaces and expanding its community. They developed numerous in-store activations, pop-up stores in Manchester and London, and internationalized their physical presence with a pop-up activation in KaDeWe, Berlin. The Manchester pop-up coincided with the physical release of their collaborated range with Liam Gallagher, which accumulated over 2000 attendees.
The Viper sneaker, a new silhouette, sold out in minutes before the General Release time window opened. The company also diversified their 247 collection, releasing three new ranges: 247 Run, Train, and Explore, each specializing in their respective domains with dialled in fabrics, fits, and technical features.
In 2022, Represent’s staff count doubled from 30 to 60, and they hosted their first Community Day, inviting 50 customers to Manchester to gain insights and feedback on areas for improvement.
